Eammon is one of the friendliest people you could meet. He's always willing to help, and he's always approachable.
Eammon has been working at SHB for 6 years (time flies when you're having fun) and credits providing business advice to clients as one of his favourite parts of the job. "Whether it's helping them figure out their quarterly taxes or figuring out ways to improve their bottom line, I absolutely love the challenge of making sure everything is in order."
Eammon holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is both a MYOB and Xero certified Advisor. But what really makes Eammon a great Accountant, is his commitment to his clients. "I really enjoy seeing my clients benefit from my advice and knowledge; that's what makes this job so rewarding."
So, what advice would Eammon give to someone looking to start their own business? Eammon thinks that being open minded is a must. "Starting a business can be both exciting and terrifying at the same time, so you need to be prepared for anything. Take the time to research different options and explore creative ideas; you never know what might work!"
Eammon loves working with all types of industries, such as agriculture, building and construction, retail, health care & social assistance. He has extensive experience working with these industries, and is familiar with their unique financial needs. Eammon takes pride in delivering tailored advice to each of his clients, so that they can make the best decisions for their business. "Being able to provide professional guidance is something I truly enjoy; it's a great feeling knowing that my work makes a difference."
During his 6 years with SHB, Eammon has been able to work with a number of successful businesses. He has also been exposed to small business struggles. So, what are the common mistakes Eammon thinks small businesses often make? "Making mistakes with lodgements and not focusing on cash flow. It's important to pay attention to your lodgements and make sure they're done correctly. Meanwhile, cash flow is a key factor for any business; if you don't manage it properly, it can lead to financial difficulty down the line. Make sure to create a plan for managing your cash flow before taking on any new projects or investments."
